Description
Snowman Mitten Measurement
How tall are the snowmen? Which one is taller and which one is shorter? Find out by measuring each snowman using the mittens.
Common Core Skill:
Your students will learn to measure objects accurately. As well, they will learn to compare two objects using those measurements.
Game Play:
Pick one little fish, and one big fish. Place them on the appropriate spot of the subtraction mat. Then using the number line find the bigger (big fish) number and subtract it from the smaller (little fish) number. Pick the right answer from the answer card. Put it on the subtraction mat. Then go fishing again!
Differentiated Instruction:
There are four measuring games that build on one another. The first game students measure using a mitten ruler. The second game students measure using larger individual mittens. The third game students measure using smaller individual mittens. Then the fourth game students measure using objects are the classroom or ones provided by teacher.
