Social Communication Checklist/Visual - Appropriately Terminating Conversation
Share

Description

This checklist is for students who abruptly turn and leave social interactions. It targets remaining oriented and attentive until the communicative partner is finished speaking, then giving a wrap-up phrase before saying goodbye.

This is ideal for quick visits around the school to different staff and peers, have a few turns of conversation, then move on appropriately. It gets in a lot of practice terminating appropriately and also keeps social interactions short and sweet so students at this level can feel successful, independent, and motivated.

~~* * * Remember, sharing is caring! Send this to someone who will use it. Share some of your own materials! Educators and therapists can only fight the good fight when we work together. * * *~~
