This product is a homework pack for the month of April that is centered around the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) theme of friendship / relationships. Social Emotional Learning is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. This type of learning is geared towards educating the whole child.
This homework pack will cover topics such as what friendship is and looks like, making new friends, how to be a good friend, and how to handle disagreements and frustrations with friends.
Included:
- Instructions on how to use the product
- 5 weeks worth of homework choice boards with 6 activities on each board (30 total activities)
- A note to families that explains what SEL is and about the homework
- A note to families that explains the theme of self-regulation
- An editable choice board if you'd like to make your options!
How it Works
This homework is designed to be flexible! Each month contains 5 weeks worth of homework (5 "choice boards"). This was done because some months have more weeks in them than others. It's likely that you might only utilize 4 of the weeks. In that situation, you can use the 5th week's choice board for in class, quick print & go activities or for early finishers that need something productive and constructive to do! Each "choice board" contains 6 total options for homework which allows students to choose which ones they'd like to do as well as in what order. As the teacher, you will decide how many of the 6 items students need to complete which is why that space has been left blank for students to fill in per your directions.
Happy teaching,
Allison
