Description

Looking for a self-checking activity where students can practice solving exponential equations using common bases? This riddle activity is just what you need to get your students working (and laughing!).

In this activity, students will solve 12 equations. They will then find their answer in the answer bank. Each answer corresponds to a letter that will be written in blanks to reveal the answer to the riddle.

5 equations already have the same bases, and the other 7 equations will need to be rewritten using the same bases before solving. No logarithms required.

Note: If you are having problems printing, please make sure you select "fit to page" and/or "fit to printable area" before clicking print.

This was the perfect resource to do a quick check to see how well students have mastered the topic. Students were engaged to find the answer. Content covered what they needed to know and I was able to determine what students still struggle with.

My students really liked the riddle! They enjoyed the "Dad Joke"-ness of it. Thanks for the no prep activity, we used this after several days of practice.
