Description

Need differentiated homework, scaffolded learning before a new unit, extra review before a quiz, or a self-directed station? This no prep, solving linear systems of equations review worksheet will fill all those needs and many more!

This practice worksheet is specifically focused on solving linear systems of equations by comparing three methods of solving, elimination, substitution, and graphing. Students will be able to compare the benefits of each method depending on the system given.

This linear systems of equations review worksheet includes four sections:

Review:  a fully completed three-part example problem with step by step solving instructions

Practice:  two straightforward practice problems, students will need to solve for a single solution three different ways.

More Practice:  two additional problems, the elimination method will require students to multiply through by a constant.

Challenge:  one challenge questions, perfect for early finishers and those students ready for problems that are a little more interesting.

The difficulty level increases as you move through the sections. Assign as many problems or as few as you like! I have created several versions of this worksheet so you can tailor your instruction even more to the specific needs of your students. Check out the rest of this series:

⭐️Solve Graphically with One Solution

⭐️Solve Graphically with One, None, Infinite Solutions

⭐️Solve Algebraically: Substitution Method

⭐️Solve Algebraically: Elimination Method

⭐️Solve Algebraically with One, None, Infinite Solutions

Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.
Understand that solutions to a system of two linear equations in two variables correspond to points of intersection of their graphs, because points of intersection satisfy both equations simultaneously.
Solve systems of two linear equations in two variables algebraically, and estimate solutions by graphing the equations. Solve simple cases by inspection. For example, 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 5 and 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 6 have no solution because 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 cannot simultaneously be 5 and 6.
