Description

This set of 24 algebra 1 task cards provides students with practice solving systems of linear equations by graphing, substitution, and elimination, including special solutions (no solution & infinitely many solutions). I have included two sets of task cards. Option 1 suggests which method to use, option 2 just reads: "solve the linear system".

Works great as a review activity before a quiz or test.

You will receive:

  • 24 Task Cards (4 to a page)
  • Student Recording Sheet (mini white boards work as a great alternative!)
  • Answer Key
  • 3 unique Matho Game Boards (laminate & reuse or print enough for each student and have them mark answers with a highlighter)

Task Cards: Use the cards for activities such as "scoot", a walkabout activity, or display them under the document camera and have students write their answers on mini whiteboards.

Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.
Solve systems of two linear equations in two variables algebraically, and estimate solutions by graphing the equations. Solve simple cases by inspection. For example, 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 5 and 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 6 have no solution because 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 cannot simultaneously be 5 and 6.
Solve real-world and mathematical problems leading to two linear equations in two variables. For example, given coordinates for two pairs of points, determine whether the line through the first pair of points intersects the line through the second pair.
