This Algebra 1 activity is a great way to keep your students engaged while they develop their understanding of solving multi-step linear equations with one variable. Students solve 12 equations in total. All equations involving solving with variables on both sides and include combining like terms and applying the distributive property. The solution to each equation is associated with a given letter. Students use the solution and the given letter from each equation to solve a riddle! Perfect for independent practice, re-teaching, small group instruction, or homework! Great extension, extra credit, or challenge for your high performing 8th graders! No prep!!
