Description

Included in this package is a complete set of guided notes and answer key for an algebra unit dealing with solving quadratic equations algebraically. Lessons include Zero Product Property, GCF, difference of squares, a = 1, a not 1, simplifying radicals involving imaginary numbers, operations with complex numbers, The Quadratic Formula, discriminant, systems of quadratic equations, and quadratic inequalities.

Included in each lesson are "You Try!" questions to be used for formative assessment. I typically go around the room and put a stamp or sticker on each student's paper when they correctly answer the question. At the end of the packet is learning target checklist where students can rate themselves each day on their progress toward mastery of the objectives.

The package includes a PDF and editable .docx version of the note packet as well as a complete answer key. Feel free to make your own edits to appropriately align to your curriculum and teaching style for use in the classroom. Disclaimer: Formatting can sometimes change upon opening the Word document on a new computer. I recommend you scan over the document before printing. Equations require MathType 6 to edit.

Individual lesson notes and related products are also available for individual purchase:
Factoring Quadratics (Guided Notes for Algebra)
Complex Numbers (Guided Notes for Algebra)
The Quadratic Formula and Discriminant (Guided Notes for Algebra)
