Description
Students explore how to analyze and solve two-step equations using a self-speak tactic that asks them to analyze the equation using the order of operations and then describe their inverse operations in the inverse order before solving. The notes increase student independence as they walk through the process of solving two-step equations.
The lesson includes guided notes, a link to the flipped video lesson, an in-class opportunity for reteaching, and in-class practice problems. The in-class refresher involves an opportunity for an informal formative assessment. The video lesson contains not only examples, but short sketches that visually connect the material in an engaging way.
