There are so many great and engaging ideas for task cards!

♦Ideas for using task cards in the LOTE classroom:

♦Use as a quick time gap closer at the end of class.

♦Hand out stacks of cards to use as students who finish early.

♦Pass out to students and use as a ticket out.

♦Use as a bellringer to get your class started.

♦Put students in pairs back-to-back and hand each matching task cards. Students answer and then compare their results. In a competitive advanced classroom, this could be used as a relay race.

♦Higher numbered questions are more difficult. Use these cards to differentiate among students.

♦Differentiate further by asking advanced students to complete the task in a different tense.

♦Task cards make great informal formative assessments!

♦Print out two ore more copies of a few of the pages. Use to randomly pair/group students. As a warmup, the pairs must answer the questions before they can get started.

♦Play Scoot! Place cards at each desk and students answer and rotate around the room.

♦Divide the cards into different piles and have students rotate to different stations.

Love the flexibility of task cards! I've used them for hallway chaos, for Scoot, and for a fan and pick. The sentences are the perfect comprehension level for my Spanish 2s at the end of the 2nd semester, and a great review for my upper levels when re-introducing the topic.
