Answers to FAQ

Is this a bundle of math worksheets?

These are not merely worksheets. They are carefully sequenced lessons with model, guided practice, and independent practice problems that introduce skills incrementally. Example IEP goals in each workbook are tied to standards and can save you time planning and writing IEPs.

Does this cover every standard?

Lessons in this bundle take students seamlessly from kindergarten through fifth grade math standards. Each resource is tied to one or more standards. Not every standard is covered. The focus is on fundamental skills including computation, number sense, and word problems.

How much prep is involved?

If you are like me, you don’t want lots of pieces to color print, cut out, laminate, and keep track of. All you need to do is choose the skill you want to work on, print a workbook for each student (black ink only), and bind the pages together. You can staple, hole punch with binder rings, or use a comb binding – whatever is easiest for you. With just one workbook you’ll be prepped and ready for weeks of instruction. No need to write out detailed daily plans, the model steps give you a consistent way to teach with simple, precise language.

How is this different from other math resources?

Step-by-Step Math to Mastery is unique because it focuses on one skill at a time until it is mastered. It doesn’t introduce several strategies simultaneously or spiral. Lessons are uncluttered and predictable. Pages have white space and structured work spaces. Students who are easily overwhelmed can instead feel calm and successful as they make steady progress.

This bundle will lighten your workload and boost student progress. Imagine looking forward to math time because it is the easiest part of your day!

❤️ So beneficial for my struggling math students. I have a student teacher this year and our district math program is so huge and cumbersome, but having this as a guide for her to take a small group and work with them is awesome! I like that the directions are right on the page, and that the activities are repetitive for some things, so they know what to expect." -Kate A.

❤️ “This has worked out great for my 5th grader that is behind in multiplication and division." -Trisha L.

❤️ “This was a great place to start the school year off with my students with learning disabilities. ❤️ “This was great for my special ed students. I could choose just a few pages for my faster students and then have them move to the next skill. For my slower students, there were many pages for the extra practice they needed." -Anne R.

I am a Resource Teacher and my school doesn't supply us with Intervention material. This was expensive but I was hopeful it would be a big time saver for me - however I am still needing to supplement with other resources. It just isnt the best fit for my needs or my students. I regret buying this, but I can see how others might enjoy using it in their classroom.

I am beyond impressed. This was the most expensive purchase I've ever made on TPT but it was so worth it. Angela has thought of everything with this resource. The layout, the wording, the sequence, the amount of modeling and practice...it is all absolutely perfect. These are the materials I'd make myself if I had the time and skill that Angela has. These workbooks will not only save me hours upon hours of planning time, but they will also make me a far better teacher. I am so excited to use them. I do wish the place value materials went up to the millions, and I wish there were multi-step word problems. However, I'm so impressed with Angela's work that if she created absolutely anything for fifth grade I'd probably buy it!
