This packet includes 6 separate Speed Note Reading worksheets. Each test has a separate sheet for violin, viola, and cello/bass in their respective clefs. Each set (i.e. Speed Test 1 Violin, Speed Test 1 Viola, Speed Test 1 Cello/Bass) has the same answer key as to facilitate grading.
Speed Tests 1 & 2 only use the D and A strings (Bass shifting notes)
Speed Tests 3 & 4 only use the G and D strings (Bass adjusted to need G on E string)
Speed Tests 5 & 6 use G, D, and A, string (Bass adjusted as above.)
Answer Key is included, so it can be left with your sub plans!
Speed Test timing is left up to the teacher. You can set a maximum time, or have students race to see who can complete it the quickest with the least errors.

This product is so helpful for my beginning strings students in achieving note reading fluency.
Great easy-to-use speed note reading practice for students. 60 notes on each page regardless of level so advanced students can have the same 'timer' as beginners.

I busted this out toward the end of the year (I wish I had came across this earlier!) and I gave the kids a speed quiz every Monday for 6 weeks.... some loved it and some groaned, but it gave me a really great indication of where the kids were at with their note reading abilities. Thanks!
Good note reading assessments. It would be nice to have an E string page for violins and Basses and a C string page for Viola and Cello, but they would probably have to be individualized for those instruments.
