This set includes 32 single and multi-step word problems using the 4 operations. The real-world sports problems deal with simple fractions, elapsed time, money, area/perimeter, and much more! This product touches on many 3rd and 4th grade Common Core skills/standards, but is most directly aligned to: 3.OA.3, 3.OA.8, 4.OA.2, 4.OA.3, and 4.MD.2.

A student recording sheet, answer key, and one-page (6 question) quick assessment are included. I recently upgraded all of my math task cards to include a digital, self-grading version of the quick assessment using Google Forms™! Download the preview to see the task cards up close. Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.
