Description

Engage your students with this Springtime Music and Movement Journey designed to teach beat, tempo, and pitch through immersive storytelling and activities.

This comprehensive Pre-K through 1st Grade resource bridges the gap between kinesthetic music exploration and foundational literacy standards.

Students will embark on a Nature Journey through ponds and meadows, physically embodying animals like fish, bees, and swans to master musical concepts.

Following the movement, they transition to literacy by retelling the story and completing a personal mini-book, ensuring they master narrative sequence through whole-body learning.

This resource includes instructional media such as the Springtime Dance video, audio files with both vocal and instrumental versions, and a dedicated teaching presentation.

Teachers receive methodology-based music lesson plans following Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze steps for exploring steady beat, fast/slow tempo, and high/low pitch.

The literacy lesson plans provide step-by-step guides for collaborative conversations, retelling story sequences, and defining new vocabulary.

You will also find printable visuals like full-color movement cards, music concept posters, and animal name and picture cards for classroom displays. Student worksheets feature the Nature Journey Map labeling activity and a color-and-trace emergent reader mini-book.
