Description

Encourage your students to bloom with these low prep spring library centers! This download includes four engaging spring-themed library center units that are not only based on the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) National School Library Standards, but they are also easy to set up, help with behavior management, and do not require technology. Perfect for your next library activity with your 3rd through 6th graders!

This packet contains four fun spring-themed library centered units:

  • Busy as a Bee - (A deep dive into the fascinating world and critical role of bees.)
  • Earth's Big Problems - (An examination of troubles that plague our Earth, perfect for Earth Day.)
  • A Rainbow of Wonder - (Spark curiosity in every color of the rainbow. Add gold coins and leprechauns to your table decor to tie in with St. Paddy's Day if you desire.)
  • The Spring Library Carnival - (Fun library skills unit for before or after Spring Break.)

Each unit contains six stations that you can choose to rotate students through individually, with a partner, or in small groups. The stations do not have to stay in numerical order and they are not reliant on each other - you can have students complete as many or as few stations as you'd like.

Thwart misbehavior in the library by turning these centers into a delightful event, (instructions included), that keeps students moving and focusing their chatter.

All supplemental material needed to complete the tasks at each station has been provided. There are many possibilities for modifications to suit your needs!

The stations are centered around each of the AASL's National Library Standards:

  • Inquire
  • Include
  • Collaborate
  • Curate
  • Explore
  • Engage

Complete instructions for setting up the stations, modifying the activity, and adding flair are in your download.

Your upper grade students will delight in rotating through these spring-themed library stations - and you will enjoy the low prep ease that engages and challenges your students based on key library standards!
