These spring number sense to 10 and spring number mats focus on number recognition and counting to 10.

Subitizing or number sense is an important skill that will benefit students in counting, composing and decomposing numbers. In this resource students will learn to recognize numbers, match numbers and number words, recognize patterns of dots, counting to 10, counting fingers and tally marks with a spring theme.

Included are 23 number and subitizing mats in color and black and white. 15 number mats focus on 0-10 and there are 8 number mats for 0-5.

There are 3 types or versions of counting mats:

1st: Students count, find the number, color it then trace the number on the right.

2nd: Same mat as the first except students count and color. I also give my students manipulatives and get them to count out that many manipulatives in the empty space on the mat.

3rd: Fill in the five or ten frame using any manipulative you have on hand or you can use the fun counters provided in the printable.

Also included are 143 number and subitizing cards. These cards cover the numbers 0-10 and come in color and black and white.

Mats 1-3: Count, color and trace numbers to 10 (Butterfly, Rainbow and Bunny)

Mat 4-6: Count, find and color numbers to 10 (Butterfly, Rainbow and Bunny)

Mat 7-9: Count, find and color (half page mats, 2 per page - Butterfly, Rainbow and Bunny)

Mat 10-12: Count and fill Ten Frames - Numbers 0 - 10 (3 options)

(fun printable counters provided in color and BW) - or use any small manipulatives you have on hand, mini erasers, counters, pom poms etc

Mat 13: Count and add bees around the beehive - Numbers 0 - 10
(fun printable counters provided in color and BW) - or use any small bee manipulative such as mini erasers etc or even yellow pompoms

Mat 14: Count and add raindrops under the cloud - use the fun counters provided or any small manipulative, you could even get them to draw the raindrops using dry erase markers.

Mat 15: Count and cover - numbers t 10. Count and cover the correct number using any manipulative

Mat 16-18: Count, color and trace numbers to 5 (Butterfly, Rainbow and Sunflower)

Mat 19-21: Count, find and color numbers to 5 (Butterfly, Rainbow and Sunflower)

Mat 22: Count, find and color/cover numbers to 5 (half page mats, 2 per page - bee numbers)

Mat 23: Count and Fill - Butterfly Five Frame (fun printable counters provided in color and BW)- or use any small manipulatives you have on hand, mini erasers, counters, pom poms etc
