Description

This spring writing activity pairs well with a spring themed read aloud, but could also be used as a stand-alone activity any time during spring. Students will love writing all about the signs they see, letting them know spring is here!

This also makes a really fun spring hallway display or bulletin board!

I recommend pairing this with a read aloud and using it as a 4-5 day writing lesson where students brainstorm, plan, draft, revise, edit, and publish their writing. However, you can always use it as a one day activity as well!

This Spring Writing Activity Includes:

  • A brainstorming sheet (Prompt: How do you know when spring is here?)
  • 2 planning sheets (1 with primary lines included)
  • 6 different writing sheets (3 with primary lines included)

This has been such a fun activity for my second graders. They are enjoying the brainstorming and putting the details together by themselves. I like how I can use this either as a whole group or independent work.
