This document is a student participation grade rubric that addresses ten world language or ESL classroom expectations such as speaking in the target language, observing the restroom policy, being respectful and being on time to class. I recommend using it on a weekly basis but it can be applied for any time length. I have been using this with my students for three years and it has drastically increased student engagement and attention to classroom expectations that are sometimes difficult to measure. My students appreciate it so much that they become irritated if I forget to grade them for a week. It is easy to use and edit as well.
