Frida Kahlo Presentation and Self-Portrait Spanish Project
This PowerPoint document contains interesting information about the life and works of Frida Kahlo. On the last two slides, there are instructions and a grading guide for a self-portrait, student project. The project should be done in Spanish but can be easily modified for an art or history class as well. There are 28 slides with many photographs and illustrations of her artwork. My Spanish 1 and 2 students seemed to love the presentation and project but it can be assigned to any level.

There are five sections which cover numbers one to ninety nine, dates, days of the week and basic Spanish greetings and goodbyes. This version has both English and Spanish instructions. It is easy to edit and grade and includes a short extra credit section although I do not use it anymore. The preview is not accurate and the format is well-aligned so not to worry. Enjoy!

Additional biographical information
During my undergraduate education, I worked with a team of six students interviewing, transcribing and analyzing the results of folkloric stories told to us by Hispanic Americans. The results can be found in the Missouri University library system.
I completed my action research project that I began during my last semester of graduate school which addresses the question: "How can authentic communicative based instruction enhance student language acquisition in the Spanish classroom?" I plan on submitting this for publishing in the near future.
