Math task card activities are a great way to introduce engaging subitizing practice to your math centers Google Classroom, Seesaw, or Printable Task Cards. Explorer Math is a fun and engaging way to do all of those in one spot! By giving students a choice on where to start first and differentiating the content, this is a game that will help your students gain mastery in the concept taught!

This resources comes in these formats (all included):

  • Preloaded Google Slides link
  • PowerPoint File
  • Printable PDF with 24 task cards, game card, and storage cover.

Digital resource details:

  • Students click "Present" on the Google Slide or PowerPoint to start.
  • Students choose where to begin by selecting one of three options on the first slide
  • Each slide provides simple instructions so students know what they need to do
  • Students choose from 3 multiple choice options for their answer
  • Students write their work for the problem on the provided accountability worksheet
  • Students are motivated by gathering an explorer story piece for each correct answer
  • All 24 problems total are separated into three differentiated groups that provide more or less scaffolding.

Printable task cards details:

  • Comes with 24 task cards covering subitizing.
  • Task cards have 3 different types of subitizing. Counting hands, counting random dots, and counting from a rekenrek.
  • Each student has a "Loot Box" game board. When a student gets an answer correct, they add a coin to their Loot Box.
  • Students check for the correct answer by flipping the task card.
  • Whoever has the most coins at the end of the deck wins.
  • An accountability page is provided to show student work.
