Are you looking for a way to make independent reading more engaging? Do you want your students to be more accountable for their independent reading? These Summarizing Bookmarks are the perfect solution!
Here's the details...
These interactive bookmarks were created to not only be mini anchor charts for each step of the SWBST strategy for summarizing, but also to give students the opportunity to practice the strategy! I suggest printing them on colored paper, so they stand out and get your students excited about reading! You can print each of the 4 different style bookmarks on double sided paper, so that the mini anchor chart is on the front, and they can practice the strategy on the back. Once they have completed their work, they end up with a cool bookmark to use in class that they can reference back to anytime they want a reminder of the strategy.

- Mini Anchor Chart for SWBST Strategy Bookmark
- SWBST Strategy Practice answering each question (lists somebody, wanted, but, so, then) Bookmark
- SWBST Strategy Practice answering each question (lists each question in full that goes with each part of the strategy -somebody, wanted, but, so then) Bookmark
- SWBST Summarizing Practice (writing a summary) Bookmark
This would be a fun homework assignment, classwork assignment, independent reading activity....even an early finishers activity.
