These digital worksheets on summarizing are great for introducing, reviewing, and remediation. The activities for summarizing included in this resource include: drag and drop important and unimportant statements, fill in the blank questions about the main idea and details, tools for annotating text, examples and non examples of a summary (good and bad), 4 short texts (2 fiction and 2 nonfiction), and 3 digital graphic organizers.

There are a total of 10 short texts included in these slides (5 fiction and 5 nonfiction). They are on a 4th and 5th grade level. These would work great with ESOL students too.

This resource makes great summarizing practice for students, but can also be used by teachers that need to explicitly introduce or reintroduce how to summarize.
