Utilize the LEGO SPIKE Prime platform with me to engage learners critical thinking, problem solving and imaginative play! Learning should be fun and in this unit we create fun robots the learn concepts of robotics, engineering, coding and STEM. Perfect for learners who need something extra in the classroom, or Gifted and Talented (GT) students, and Homeschool students who want STEM opportunities! Students will be able to create their own invention at the end of the unit to show their STEM muscles!

- Learn what the LEGO elements are called by their proper names, what is in your LEGO SPIKE Prime LEGO bin!
- Open / Print the Swing Doc Document.
- Watch and Build: Swing - Build
- Learn about basic building techniques, specifically the importance of at least two points of contact to provide structural integrity.
- Watch and Code:Swing - Code
- Learn how to make motors move! We move our first motor to make our swing spin around in a circle.
- DO: Complete the Think Farther Section of the Swing Doc.
- Open / Print the Racer Doc Document
- Watch and Build: Racer - Build
- Learn how to use a motor to make a LEGO vehicle move. And we explore the use of LEGO gears and how they impact how our creations behave!

- We take a look at counting down a racer to move and challenge coding skills!

- Watch and Build:PolyBot - Build
- We build our first two motored LEGO robot that MOVES! We utilize the SPIKE Prime Platform to hold a pen.

- We explore the use of FUNCTIONS in our coding and utilize them to turn our robot by degrees of a circle.

- Open / Print the Color Sorter Doc Document
- Watch and Build: Color Sorter - Build
- We build a turn table that rotates to aim our flicker to sort LEGO Bricks by Color.
- Watch and Code: Color Sorter - Code
- Learn how to Code a Color Sensor to create code that will sort the LEGO Bricks!
