What others say

"This resource makes a great task box for students to work on independently once they have been taught this skill! I love that is is aligned with how I teach syllabication strategies! "

Description

This product contains 40 task cards of two-syllable words that contain open and closed syllables. The words follow the V/CV and VC/CV patterns. Students use Orton-Gillingham methods to divide the words. Use these cards as you teach syllable division or in a literacy center for extra practice. Laminate the cards, punch holes in the corners, and keep them on a binder ring. Also included are two different answer recording sheets; one sheet asks the students to divide and define the words while the other sheet only asks students to divide the words. An answer key is included.

Also available:

Syllable Division Task Cards Set 1: VC/CV Pattern with Closed Syllables

Syllable Division Task Cards Set 2: VC/CV & V/CV Patterns with Closed and Open Syllables

Syllable Division Task Cards Set 3: V/CV & VC/V Patterns with Closed and Open Syllables

Helpful for syllabication patterns but I ended up making a lot of my own words. The file wasn’t the best at user friendliness

My students loved using this. They were engaged and had no trouble getting started. It didn't take much prep time either.
