Syllable Shake Up: R-Controlled Syllable Edition is a game that students can play during centres or as an early finisher activity to work on reading skills and identifying r-controlled syllable words that have 1 and 2 syllables. There are two ways to play and you decide whether you want to try the "quick game" option or the "strategic game" option.

Students take turns reading words, identifying the number of syllables in words and collect their words on their syllable mats, all while dodging the dreaded "SHAKE UP" cards.
