Description

These teaching tips detail how I implement each of the Car Math resources from the Unit Bundle. In my classroom, the Car Math Unit takes 10 days to complete. Each day is structured so students are required to do minimal or no work outside of the school day. I encourage partner/group participation with all of the activities.

This unit shows that car ownership is more than just a price tag students see in a commercial or advertisement. The math throughout centers around basic adding, subtracting, and multiplying. Much of this material is “fun” to examine, especially for older male students, and teaches all students life skills needed in the car buying process that focus on practical math.
