Description

This activity reviews the five common text structures that authors use and then gives students a chance to write their own brief paragraphs demonstrating their knowledge.

Scaffolded with a sample paragraph and signal words, this higher ordered thinking activity can be used independently, in small groups or with partners. Use the finished paragraphs as a wall display, the possibilities are endless.

This resource is completely aligned with the standards. However, the whole series is very misleading the cake, candy, and donut titles all have text refering to salads. In addition the cause and effect was already completed so my students were unable to use this space.

Hi Zandile-Sorry to read of your confusion. The salad texts have always been there as a review--in many of these products--as noted in the description AND preview to use if your kids need it. Easy enough to leave out, since it's completely separate. As for the cause and effect provided paragraph, it's an example; a scaffold, if you will. Again, easy enough to modify if your kids don't need it.
