Description
Thanksgiving Math Themed Algebra Distributive Property Equivalent Expressions and Combining Like Terms 6th Grade Math Coloring Activities.
This is great for Thanksgiving fun! The resource is printed in black and white for the students to color in.
✦ Notes:
Students will apply the properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions.
For example, applying the distributive property to the expression 3(2t - g) + 3(4g - 3t) y to produce the equivalent simplified expression.
Each answer occurs twice, once with a number and once with a color.
The matching color can then be used to color the picture in a fun color by number activity.
All answers are included.
✎ Contents:
This resource includes:
- One worksheet with 26 questions on simplifying algebraic expressions by combining like terms and using the distributive property.
- One answer key sheet for students to fill in.
- One color by number picture for students to color in.
- Teachers notes.
- All answers.
✦ Objectives:
This resource has been designed to practice:
- Using the distributive property with algebraic expressions.
- Combining like terms.
- Simplifying algebraic expressions.
- Adding and subtracting the terms of linear expressions.
- Identifying when two expressions are equivalent by simplifying.
- Adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers.
✽ Directions:
Print out the 3 pages for each student:
- the sheet of questions
- the coloring answer key sheet
- the coloring picture
✦ Notes:
All answers are included, so you can easily mark students work.
