What others say

"This math review pie was an excellent activity right before Thanksgiving Break! My students loved decorating/coloing their pie and it was a great way to review some math skills when we didn't have time for a full math lesson!"

"I used the blank pies and made me own problems. All of my problems had to do with fall. This activity was so fun! I will say my kiddos struggled to cut this out correctly. When we folded and put on the wall outside of our room everyone loved it. "

Description

A Thanksgiving math activity with word problems that your upper grade students will gobble up! Students will use their problem-solving strategies and attack math word problems with this fun pumpkin pie craftivity. Students will answer 6 different word problems, all with a pumpkin pie theme. Math concepts include: elapsed time, fractions, money, decimals, and operations – addition, multiplication, and subtraction. There is also a blank template panel if you want to add your own word problems to cover learning goals currently taught in your classroom. Students will provide full solutions to the problems, cut out and decorate the pumpkin pie panels, and then assemble the resource into a 3D activity, perfect for display.

This resource contains 2 different templates on each page – so each student will require 3 pages to complete the craftivity. I have included the 6 panels plus a blank template in case you wish to write in your own question or use a blank template as a cover to assemble the panels into a flipbook rather than a 3D craftivity.

Completed examples of all solutions are included, as well as a rubric and answer page for formative or summative assessment.

This craftivity is included in my Fall Math Craftivity Bundle which contains two different Fall-themed craftivities.
