Description

Thanksgiving Math Project is a real world learning task. This Math activity requires students to read in the content area (local grocery flyers) to plan and decide on the meals for Thanksgiving Day. Student are required to make healthy choices for their meals and apply their math skills to calculate the cost (and unit costs) of these meals within a specific budget. After the meals are planned, students will need to reflect on their food choices and explain their decisions (critical thinking). They are then asked to analyze their decisions.

Included in this package are: teacher directions, student directions, student accounting sheets for each meal, student reflection sheets and an assessment rubric.

Other than collecting your local grocery flyers (either in print or online advertisements), there is no other prep involved.

Please Note: This project is similar to our Christmas Math Project. If you have purchased the Christmas Math Project, you will find it mimics the same types of activities in task and structure.
