Description
This is by far my most popular resource in Teachers Pay Teachers, but this is an updated listing. I kept the old listing HERE if you'd like to see the reviews, but this version is a Google Doc version whereas the other is a PDF version. Also, you can find 100 Add-On Fermi Questions in Google Doc form HERE.
I think the Fermi Project is as much fun for teachers as it is for those students that embrace it. Fermi questions are ridiculous math-based questions to which nobody really wants to know the answer, but that's half of their charm. The other half is that this is a REALLY good skill to teach our students. It requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, research skills, but overall the major skill therein is making educated guesses and how we learn to truly make them EDUCATED guesses. And they can be a LOT of fun. I mean, did you know your body will produce 624 pounds of poop this year? Do you know how engaging poop is to students, even high school students? Your download will contain an Overview, Example Fermi Question With Answer, Rubric, Project Instructions, and 54 Fermi Questions.
**Please note that this is a Google Doc, not a PDF, so you will be getting a virtual copy of this resource in your Google Drive. This means you can alter the resource to fit your needs and upload it to Google Classroom if needed. All I ask is that you respect the work I have done to create this resource and not share it with other teachers as if you owned the rights to it. Remember, in purchasing this resource, you have purchased a copy, not a copyright. Thank you.
Also, here's a few other projects from my store:
100 Add-On Fermi Questions - PDF
100 Add-On Fermi Questions - Google Doc
The Two Day Cell Phone Project
The Fermi Project: Problem Solving, Critical Thinking Math Project - GOOGLE DOC
