Description
These are the Leveled Problem Solving questions from Think Math for Second Grade. I call them my "Shining Star Question of the Day." I use these as a formative assessment to create my math workshop groups.
Each day, Monday thru Thursday, the students can earn up to 6 stars for answering all of the questions correctly. One star questions are considered to be basic, two stars are on level, and three stars are above level. For every 15 stars earned, the students will get a large star that they decorate and then add to our Math Stars wall. For fun, I like to play "You're a Shining Star" by Earth, Wind, and Fire! It's corny...I know! Don't judge :) I am working on creating a recording sheet and I will upload it as soon as it's done.
I pull this file up on my computer and project it onto my white board, however, feel free to use them in any way that you wish.
Think Math is published by Harcourt School Publishers.
