Description

This guide makes it easy to plan your year and be sure you meet all of the standards!
You get all the information you need to successfully plan and track your progress on meeting the Common Core State Standards for third grade math standards, including the Mathematical Practices. Each standard is highlighted to show whether it is Major Work, a Supporting Cluster or an Additional Cluster. This allows you to spend the majority of your instructional time on the Major Work - as the standards require!

Each standard has also been matched to its Depth of Knowledge. That means that you will not only know the standard, you will also know the cognitive level of the standard, and can plan to help your students meet the challenge.

The planner also includes space for you to write in your units of study, the assessments you will use to check student's progress, and a place to keep additional notes.

An introduction and sample make it easy to use. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. I've used this in my classroom very successfully, and you will too!

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
