Description

If you're always searching for new and challenging activities for your second grade math centers, these math riddles for two-digit addition with three addends are just what you need!

This resource is also included in Three Addends Two Digit Numbers Riddle Activities Bundle. You'll get twice as many riddles plus components for digital use in the bundle!

Here's how math riddle task cards work!

Choosing from four numbers on each card, your students will use their addition skills to determine the secret number by eliminating three of the options. With each card they complete, your students will solve three addition number models with three addends – that’s 72 in all!

What does this resource include?

♦ 24 math riddle task cards

♦ Student recording page and answer key

♦ Themed 120 chart for support and differentiation

♦ An easy prep board game (no cards!) is also included. You'll love it for additional practice in a math center.

♦ Self-correcting Easel assessment

Here are some options for using these math center activities:

♦ Use in a math center for individual or partner work

♦ Use as a skills review rotation, like Scoot, individually or with partners, with

students moving to stations around the classroom to solve the riddles.

♦ Use for morning “bell ringers”.

♦ Use as enrichment to keep your fast finishers learning!

♦ Paraprofessionals and parent helpers love to use these cards, since they can use as few or as many as time allows, still giving students a sense of completion.

♦ Use for whole class review with your document camera.

Here's what teachers like you have said about these task card activities!

These riddles are a unique practice opportunity for my 2nd graders. They like moving around the room to find and solve each riddle. I have made a different recording sheet that makes the solving and process of elimination easier for students who need extra support.
