• Identify, create, classify, and sort polygons with 12 or fewer sides according to attributes, including identifying the number of sides and vertices.
• Understand subsets of polygons such as quadrilaterals can be sorted by defining attributes.
• Describe the two resulting figures formed by a line of symmetry as being congruent (having the same shape and size).
• Name, describe, and decompose solid figures by characteristics (e.g., number of edges, number of vertices, shapes of faces).
• Decompose or partition two-dimensional shapes into fair shares and identify the resulting geometric parts.
• Identify examples and non‐examples of fractional parts of a whole: halves, thirds, fourths, sixths, and eighths.
• Using same-size fraction pieces, from a region/area model, count by unit fractions up to two wholes.
