Description
Looking for a supplement to your transformational geometry lessons? Students interact digitally with these seven practice slides that cover the topics of scale factor effects, dilating ordered pairs, writing algebraic rules, translations, reflections, dilations and rotations.
Students can interact with these 7 Google Slides™ using drag and drop and the typing feature so they are no prep and no print for teachers.
I like to individually copy and paste one or two Slides into a new slideshow to assign as a short practice during or right after a lesson, but they could also be assigned all at once at the end of the unit as review. A digital key is included.
Skills covered in these Slides:
- Determining if a given scale factor will preserve, enlarge or reduce size.
- Writing algebraic rules using various scale factors.
- Dilating ordered pairs.
- Identify translations and reflections and identifying their algebraic rules.
- Determining the new ordered pairs for a figure on a coordinate plane after a dilation.
- Using preimage and image ordered pairs to determine the specific translation or dilation that occurred.
- Writing the new ordered pairs of a figure after various rotations.
If you share the student copy with your students through Google Classroom or LMS please be sure each student get a unique copy. For example, in Google Classroom use the “create an assignment” feature so that you will have the option “make a copy for each student.”
In order to be able to interact with these slides (type or move draggable items), students should be in "edit" mode, not “present” mode. The same applies if these Slides are downloaded as Power Points.
