Description

Triangle types, missing side and missing angles are the focus of these color by number activities.

  • In this triangles color by number activity, students solve 20 problems, find the solution on the coloring sheet/section and color it with the color indicated - in both print and digital versions.

Students will quickly know whether or not they solved correctly - if their answer isn't on the coloring sheet, they know it's incorrect.

Check out the Preview and video demo to see what's included and to see how the Google Slides version works (students will need to know how to use the "Fill color" feature). *2 versions have been added since the video preview was recorded.

Problems require students to apply knowledge of triangle types (acute, obtuse, right, isosceles, equilateral, scalene) to:

  • Find missing side lengths of triangles, given the triangle type and other side lengths
  • Find missing angle measures of triangles, given the triangle type and other angle measures
  • Find the perimeter of triangles, given the triangle type and a side length (2 questions)

This easy-prep triangles resource includes:

1) Three print version:

Version A

  • Problem sheet with 20 questions
  • Coloring sheet

Version B

  • SAME problems as Version A
  • Coloring sheet: a little less complex than Version A

Version C

  • Problem sheet with 15 questions (2 problems same as Version A/B; less challenging than Version A/B)
  • Coloring sheet: same pattern as Version B, different colors

2) One digital version:

  • Same problems and same coloring as print Version A
  • Students type their answers in the answer box
  • Students use the ‘Fill color’ bucket to color the shapes
  • Questions are not editable (they are in the background) but the shapes and numbers in the pattern ARE movable.
  • Link to Slides is after the print items in the PDF download.

3) Answer keys

4) Two coloring pages with no numbers, so students can color for fun, create their own color by numbers, or for you to create your own color by number activities for your classes.

Great triangle practice after students have learned features of triangles and practiced building. Some of the questions were a tad hard as they blend multiple topics (which is awesome, but for my 6s this was difficult simply because we haven't yet got to the point of reviewing some of the concepts this year, like perimeter, and they've forgotten about it!). With support (and perhaps a mini-lesson here and there) these worked well!
