Description

Discover trigonometric functions through objects around our lives. Students will take pictures of objects where they can model using the basic trigonometric functions and their transformations.

The document is editable. The idea is to assign students in groups and work on a photo project together. They are supposed to observe trigonometric functions in real life, take pictures, and create a function that models the real object. Teachers should encourage students to incorporate transformation of functions in their models. They can also put their graphs on smartboard, powerpoint, or desmos.

Great ideas I incorporated on a last mini project this spring. I did not use the whole project as laid out but think that would be a good resource to do so given a longer time to develop it in your class.
