Description

This resource contains the two different handouts that I use with my students when we study word two way tables.

The first hand-out is the guided notes I use to introduce this topic with my students. During the guided notes students will

1) Learn how to read and interpret two way tables

2) Fill in two way tables that have been partially completed

3) Create an entire two way table based off of real world information

4) Research and interpret a two way table that involves students gathering classroom data.

The second hand out is the homework that I assign to students. It is very similar to the guided the notes and gives students an opportunity to practice what they have just learned.

This resource is NO PREP FOR YOU. Just print and go.

Understand that patterns of association can also be seen in bivariate categorical data by displaying frequencies and relative frequencies in a two-way table. Construct and interpret a two-way table summarizing data on two categorical variables collected from the same subjects. Use relative frequencies calculated for rows or columns to describe possible association between the two variables. For example, collect data from students in your class on whether or not they have a curfew on school nights and whether or not they have assigned chores at home. Is there evidence that those who have a curfew also tend to have chores?
