This product is GREAT at having students make connections between real world scenarios, tables, equations written in slope intercept form, and linear graphs! This product contains eight different resources about different real world scenarios that have a constant rate of change. Information is presented to students in only one of four ways. The four ways that students can be presented with information about the real world situation include By a word problemBy an equation written in slope interc

I am always looking for more ways to make my classroom more student-centered. If I can ever avoid directly teaching my students, I do it. The eight resources that are contained in this product help me to accomplish that when I introduce my students to solving systems of equations. The resources contained in this product each contain a real world scenario and will ask students to write equations in slope intercept form that describe each scenario. Students will also be asked to graph both equat

Experience

I specialize in creating engaging resources that help students learn to love math!

Teaching style

I believe that the key to student achievement in the field of mathematics is to engage them. Over my decade plus of experience teaching math, I have found that the math murder mysteries, differentiated math mazes, and error analysis resources that can be found on this store have better helped students enjoy math over a traditional worksheet. My hope is that the different games and activities I provide here will engage your students as much as they do mine.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Helping students to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom.

Additional biographical information

Despite being a middle school teacher, I have much experience working with high school level content. At my school I have three preps. These preps include teaching a "regular" level track that follow the 8th grade common core standards, an honors Algebra 1 class, and a high honors Algebra 2 class. In my spare time, my wife and I enjoy relaxing at home with our new born daughter and golden retriever :)
