Description
These Boom cards give students an understanding of fractions using visual models. Students who are just learning about fractions will love these interactive cards! The first few cards walk students through how to think about fractions as a part of a whole. A scenario about two students eating pizza provides a context for the first type of problem. Each card walks through identifying the total number of pieces and the pieces that were eaten, leading students to chose the correct fraction. The second type of problem removes some scaffolding and asks students to identify the amount shaded on a visual model. These cards are interactive with sounds and images, and students will love filling in the blanks and manipulating the models. Boom cards are fun!
They are also versatile! You can assign them through your Google Classroom easily (click here to learn more about that!). They also work in See Saw! Boom cards are awesome for:
1. Centers
2. Differentiation
3. Small groups
4. Whole class
5. Distance Learning
