Use this assignment to help your students understand how to read Shakespeare's language; a great assignment to use when introducing the Bard's works, like at the beginning of a "Romeo and Juliet," for instance.
The assignment provides students with a list of commonly used words and phrases from Shakespeare, and asks them to not only "translate" the language into modern English, it also asks them to do the opposite; take a phrase in modern English and "translate" it to Shakespearean language. A key is included at the end of the assignment, for teacher ease of use!
