Description

This quiz will assess students' understanding of unit conversions. Students will use various rates to answer questions about a real-life scenario.

Students are asked to convert from one unit to another and rank quantities by size when the quantities are listed with different units. The conversion rates are included. Additionally, students are given four rates and are asked to answer five questions about them, including comparing a rate to another rate and using the rate to determine the total amount.

Both versions are at similar difficulties, with the second being slightly easier.

For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction Β½/ΒΌ miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
Use units as a way to understand problems and to guide the solution of multi-step problems; choose and interpret units consistently in formulas; choose and interpret the scale and the origin in graphs and data displays.
