Description
I use these sorts as practice after notes but before giving classwork or homework and as a review. My students record their sorts on the recording sheet at the end of the series of sorts and use them to help with homework and to study for tests. My students LOVE math sorts. It is a great way to cement procedural knowledge and create an opportunity for all students to be successful in math.
**As a side activity, I frequently give students just half the sort (either the instructions or the work side) and have them fill in the opposite side on their own.
I hope your students enjoy these as much as mine do! :)

For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction ½/¼ miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
