Students will order 13 rational numbers in order from least to greatest. Students are given a snake template in which to order their numbers. This is an ideal activity for a quick formative assessment, warm-up, homework, or center activity. An answer key has been provided.

This puzzle works just like my magic square puzzle. Students match the expressions with the corresponding greatest common factor and then use the GCF to write the expression in factored form. When puzzle is assembled correctly it creates a snowman. :)

This puzzle works just like my Equations Magic Square and my Magic Snowman. Students will solve One-Step Inequalities and match them to their solutions to create a football player. I ask students to solve, check and graph their inequalities on a separate piece of paper to be turned in with their completed puzzle. :)

This activity provides students with a fun way to interact with the cross sections of solids. Students will match the solid to various cross section created by slicing the solid in different ways. I have my students complete this activity in pairs, often with playdoh and string so they can recreate the solids and cuts and verify the cross sections.

Magic Square puzzles provide a fun way for students to practice concepts. This magic square focuses on using long division to solve multi-digit whole number division problems. As students match the problems and solutions they will discover that it creates the shape of a pilgrim hat. This provides instant feedback for students and is easy for teachers to monitor as they move around the classroom. Magic squares are great for homework, classwork, substitute teachers, and math centers.

This matrix is designed to help break down solving and graphing two step inequalities by forcing students to think about each step in the process. This really helped bridge the gap between what my students could do with my help and what they could do on their own. Matrices are a great way to help your students build a visual picture in their heads of a process.

Students will enjoy practice opposites and absolute values by playing a game with a partner. Students will be engaged in problem solving, explaining, and computation type problems as they play through the game board. All materials are included except a pencil and a paperclip. A Task Rotation addresses the four learning styles as identified by Silver, Strong and Associates to differentiate the assignment. The 4 learning styles are Mastery, Interpersonal, Understanding, and Self-Expressive.
