I am in my 25th year teaching. I have 20 years of middle school math experience that includes basic, support math through to Algebra 1. I have also taught 5th grade.
I am a Activboard Trainer in my district. I love to create engaging lessons and activities for my students.

Dividing Multi-Digit Whole Numbers Magic Pilgrim Hat 6.NS.2
Magic Square puzzles provide a fun way for students to practice concepts. This magic square focuses on using long division to solve multi-digit whole number division problems. As students match the problems and solutions they will discover that it creates the shape of a pilgrim hat. This provides instant feedback for students and is easy for teachers to monitor as they move around the classroom.

Teaching style
I am a hands on teacher. I like lessons that promote discussion and thinking in my classroom. I like my students to be a bit off balance while they are working through a lesson so that they are truly working through the process of learning. I find it thrilling when my students come out of a lesson feeling accomplished and like the really understand the concepts we are working on. :)
