Description
This activity consists of 20 task cards and a recording sheet. Students compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions. Students can work independently or with partners, moving around the room while solving the problems.
This activity can be good practice for students who struggle with how to set up the problem. Each situation has two unit rate questions. For example, if the problem involves miles and minutes, one task card asks for min/mi. and another will ask for mi/min.
An exit slip with one problem and a reflection question is included.
Detailed directions, helpful hints, and answer keys are also included. Cards are available in color or black and white.
This activity is a great follow up for this interactive notebook lesson:

Compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions, including ratios of lengths, areas and other quantities measured in like or different units. For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction ½/¼ miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
