Valentine’s Day Math Puzzles Activities and Logic Problems.

Fun printable puzzles with a Valentines Theme.

There are 9 fun Valentines Day math puzzles on 10 printable worksheets.

There are 2 versions included, so that you can print in black and white or color.

All answers are included.

This resource includes:

  • 9 fun Valentines Day math puzzles on 10 printable worksheets (there are 2 versions of each puzzle - one in color and one in black and white.)
  • Teachers notes.
  • All answers.

The puzzles included are:

Puzzle 1 - A fun pre-algebra puzzle to find the number that each picture represents.

Puzzle 2 - A fun pre-algebra puzzle to find the number that each picture represents.

Puzzle 3 - Match the hearts by evaluating algebraic expressions. There are 28 hearts to match into pairs.

Puzzle 4 – A puzzle to find the numbers on each of a set of 6 cards from the math clues given.

Puzzle 5 - A logic puzzle to find how many heart chocolate boxes will balance the weighing scales.

Puzzle 6 - A logic word problem to find out which person received which Valentine’s present and which Valentine’s card.

Puzzle 7 - A harder pre-algebra puzzle to find the number that each picture represents.

Puzzle 8 - A crack the code puzzle with 6 Valentines clues to solve.

Puzzle 9 – An order of operations problem to find how many numbers 1-100 you can make with 4 Valentine related numbers.

The puzzles can be solved by trial and error or can be used to introduce algebraic methods.

Objectives:

This resource has been designed to practice:

  • Operations with numbers – add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Solving word problems.
  • Developing logic skills.
  • Developing problem solving skills.
  • Order of operations with numbers.
  • Operations with positive and negative numbers.
  • Writing and evaluating expressions with numbers.
  • Pre-algebra skills.
  • Evaluating algebraic expressions.
  • Exponents.
  • Mental Math.

Directions:

Print out a set of 10 worksheets for each student.

You can print in color or use the black and white version.

Alternatively, laminate one set of worksheets for students to share.

Or display for your class on a smartboard.

Notes:

All answers are included, so you can easily mark students work.

These questions should take at least an hour for students to complete.

Suggestions:

When finished, students could try making up their own puzzles.

They could also have fun coloring the pictures.
