Description
Get your kids excited and motivated to work and learn online!
Turn a Google Slides ™ presentation into a clickable “website” without having to use Google Sites. This is an accessible Google Slides / Virtual Classroom. All hyperlinks have alt text which describes the item and the link. Students with text-to-voice turned on will be able to hear these descriptions when they visit the presentation. It was designed so that students don’t have to be able to read anything, as the pictures are pretty self-explanatory (I.e. if you click on the bookshelf, you’ll go to the library).
*please note, not EVERYTHING in the examples is included in the resource, due to copyright restrictions. Most things are! Check out the thumbnail pictures and read through this description to see what is included*
You will get:
- 2 hallway / front door options
- 2 “main room” options w/ a whiteboard, carpet, and decorations
- 7 library options
- 1 library key (optional)
- 2 “math room” options
- Examples of fully-decorated “rooms”
- A short video showing how to add in your own accessible hyperlinks if you have something else to add.
Each “room” has more fully decorated and more blank options, so you can choose something that’s basically ready-to-go or you can add your own flair to your room by adding images from Google or images you already own. See my fully decorated example slides to get ideas of where to get more decorations for your room!
The Hallway
Includes a door with a hyperlink to the next page (like opening the door into your room!)
The Main Room
Includes a smartboard / whiteboard, chair, rug, pom pom garland, alphabet posters, bookshelf, wobble chairs, and desk. These things are not movable, but anything extra you add to the walls or the background can be! If students click on the bookshelf, the hyperlink will take them to the “library” slide. If students click on the “no prob-llama” poster (or a poster of your choice), it will take them to the “math room” slide!
The Library
Includes many different decoration options and several blank slate options! You are also getting hyperlinks to the 37 EPIC book collections I made to mimic an actual library (book bins F&P level A-Z and book bins for genres). You can, of course, add your own EPIC collections instead, or do a mix of the two! Students will need EPIC logins (free, during school hours) in order to actually read any of the books in the collections. Some of the pages also have hyperlinks to read alouds for popular book characters.
The “Math Room”
Includes a blank cork board for you to add on to, a rainbow rolling cart, a rug, and the math shelves/tools themselves. Each bin on the shelves has a picture label and pre-made accessible hyperlink to an online digital manipulative. Included manipulatives are: vocab cards, tens frames, place value blocks, hundreds charts, spinners, number lines, clocks, dice, tangrams, “other”, flashcards, money, unifix/snap cubes, counters, and playing cards. You can of course also add in more or different links to your preference!
Grab my virtual classroom BUNDLE to add on a birthday bulletin board and a student work display to your classroom, which you can add hyperlinks for.
Suggested hyperlinked items (not included in this resource):
- A hyperlink from the alphabet posters to a digital word wall
- A hyperlink from the smart board to your classroom padlet, or another classroom website
- Hyperlinks to websites your class uses (like EPIC, Moby Max, etc.)
Lastly - I want this resource to be usable and customizable! If you think of an option that you think should be added or if you have any questions, please email me at caringclassroomtpt@gmail.com and I’ll try my best to add it.
