Take your students on a virtual field trip to rivers and streams! This resource includes an editable presentation file (both PowerPoint and Google Slides format) which has some very basic information about the rivers and streams biome, along with some interesting photo and video links.

Internet access is required to use this resource.

This resource includes:

  • A brief PowerPoint/Google Slides presentation (25 slides, including title page, numerous brainstorming slides, section dividers, and various video links):
    • Basic information about rivers and streams
    • Links to 360° photos of rivers and streams in 4 different countries
    • Link to view Horseshoe Bend on Google Earth
    • Link to educational rivers and streams video (4.5 mins.)
    • Video link to virtual trip along the Colorado River (5 mins.)
    • Video link to virtual trip to find rainbow trout (7.5 mins.)
    • End of field trip reflection (3 questions)

  • Worksheets (PDF format)
    • What I know, what I want to learn, and what I learned (2 versions)
    • Observation notes for the rivers and streams in the 4 countries featured in the lesson (2 versions)
    • Observation notes for Horseshoe Bend (2 versions)
    • Worksheet about rainbow trout (3 versions)

This presentation file is editable, so feel free to add information or remove activities that you do not want to use.
